Something wrong with my Seal

When using Wetlink, I noticed that the Seal appears to be damaged. It has only been used once. Is this normal?

Hi @Joe22 -
Did you have a leak? Generally the seals are only one-time use, due to compression and abrasion of the plug preventing re-use (as you’re seeing there.) If you opened and intend to re-assemble, it may be worth replacing that seal, but if you’re staying at shallow depths it would likely be ok…

To clarify, the reuse recommendations on our product page technical details, and in the usage guide, specify that

  1. the colored compression seals (and previously-compressed regions of the cable jacket) should not be reused, but
  2. the metal bulkheads and plugs can be reused (when resealing a cable) up to 3 times, and
  3. the assembled WetLink penetrator + cable can be moved around and reinstalled indefinitely (although when reinstalling you’ll need to inspect the o-ring and replace it if necessary).
