Short circuit across power cable?

(Matthew Spencer) #1

We’ve almost finished building a BlueROV2. A multimeter shows almost no resistance across the ends of the power cable, with no battery connected. Does that mean there’s a short circuit somewhere?

At what point are you measuring the resistance, and what are you measuring? I get ~1.7kOhm at the battery contacts.

Thanks for the quick response. I get 1.66kOhm across the battery contacts. Does that sound OK?

(Jacob) #4

Yes, is this what you were getting before? Were you measuring ~0 somewhere else?

I think I must have been on the wrong range on my meter (2000kOhms instead of 2kOhms) when I was getting what I thought was zero (and I wasn’t sure what to expect). Pretty sure it’s actually fine now.
