Roof Rack threads stripping

Is anyone else having the M5 threads strip on the roof rack?
I am very well aware of how weak threads in aluminium are, so I put very little torque on the M5 bolts when attaching the roof racks, however it seems like chocolate would have more strength. I have now resorted to drilling out the tapped holes and using brass flanged threaded inserts - yes I appreciate that Brass & Aluminium suffer from galvanic corrosion in salt water.
Is introducing something a better solution for the threads possible at the manufacturing stage, maybe stainless thread inserts?
