Remote control Flight navigator

Hi

We are building a autonoumos boat using the Flight navigator, rasberry Pi4, T-500 thrusters and some diy boat we build

Maybe someone has a tip on what we can use best for

GPS and RC

And if you have tips on building this we are happy to hear it

Hi @Auto -
Sounds like a fun project! Will it be a catamaran or monohull? How big? I’'d assume you’ll steer it with differential thrust, skid steer like the BlueBoat?

This is the GPS used by the BlueBoat.

For remote control, it’s possible to just use a bluetooth game-controller, like a PS4/PS5/Xbox controller, and control the vehicle via a tcp/ip connection (Wifi.) It is possible to use a traditional RC controller / receiver though, but might require modification of the Navigator depending on the SBUS type (the receiver must use SBUS!) From the BlueBoat FAQ:

Any receiver that supports SBUS can be connected to the Navigator for use with ArduRover 4.4 and later. To use, connect the SBUS to the RC port just above the 6.6V ADC input on the Navigator. Then, make sure there’s nothing connected to Serial1 (this cannot be used in conjunction with SBUS input.) Set SERIAL1_PROTOCOL to RCIN, and set RC_OPTIONS to 36. Restart the autopilot and perform the necessary calibration and setup of the RC controller in QGroundControl.

Well we have a pretty big one i think

We have a steel hull what hangs under a plastic plate (1 meter width and 2 meters long)

The plastic plate is there do it floats and solar on top

The steel hull contains:
Battery 24v lifepo
Rasberry pi4
Flight navigator
Mppt (to charge the battery)
Converter (for 24vdc)

The steel hull (lets say a torpedo)
Is under to stabilise it and the hull also cools the mppt and converter

Point is mechanical I can do it
But the blue robotics all is really new for me hahaha that’s why I’m here
