Pogo pin connectors are great for BR enclosures

I’m building a costal glider, and I have bulkhead fittings on both ends of my dry enclosure. I still wanted to be able to pull the electronics sled out the back, but I didn’t want to have long cables inside to connect/disconnect the sonar and pressure sensors in the front. I feel like this is a common problem with these bottles, and I wanted to share my solution.

I printed this fixture that lines up these magnetic pogo connectors that snap together when I push the sled into the housing. This wouldn’t work with a thruster or something with a lot of current, but I’m quite impressed with how simple these are, and how it cleans up the internal wiring.

That’s a thing of beauty!

elegant solution. Making note of this for future projects.

Hi @brad_smith,

Really cool idea - thanks for sharing!

I’ve passed this on internally to the rest of the BR engineering team.

I imagine this could be particularly helpful when using a coupler flange, to avoid needing to (dis)connect a bunch of stuff in the middle…

I’m happy to help. I think this would work well as an option for your new rails.
