In the technical specification for the newton gripper, it states that Peak Current is 6 Ampere.
Since supply voltage is between 9 and 18 VDC, is the peak current based on 9Volt supply, ie, 3Amp on 18V ?
The microcontroller in the Newton Gripper attempts to limit the amount of power going through the Gripper’s motor to it’s maximum rating, which is 6 A at 9 V. So yes, at 18 V, the Gripper should only pull a maximum of around 3 A.
