I think that you have to join MATE, like I did, to receive the news letter.
I too looked all over the website and could not find a link to request the news letter.

Okay. I get the newsletter already but was hoping to find a link that we could share for anyone who’s interested! I’m not sure how I got on the list in the first place.

You can view the MATE news letter here on the MATE website.
I just noticed that on the top of the MATE news letter webpage there is a “Join Email List” tab.
