Low light USB camera cable shielding

I have cut and extended the cables in order to have the camera in an external housing. I got the picture but experience a lot of noice in the picture durinf testing. When I shield the cable with my hand, the noice stops and the picture is clear. Any good[USB cam test](http://I have done the same in order to have the camera in an external housing. You can use a copper tape or aluminium foil, both can do the job for you.

How about a cable with built in shielding, connected to ground?

Off course. BUT I have used some miniature connectors and the cables from them are not shielded. I will try with silver wrapping to earth.
