I have upgraded to BlueOS 1.3.1 on our Bluerov2 Heavy. When I run the cockpit app installed on the laptop connected to the ROV and it connects with live video. Problem occurs when I unplug the vehicle from the battery and plug back in. At this point after restarting it seems to revert back to the older version of BlueOS as the screen on 192.168.2.2 is the older layout not the newer of 1.3.1. Cockpit still connects but no longer shows live video from the rov. I not sure what the problem is here. I have tried reinstalling via the browser GUI blueos 1.3.1 but it says it is already installed and after doing that If I go again to 192.168.2.2 the screen for 1.3.1 appears, of course if I unplug the vehicle it again goes back to the older versions screen. Any idea on the problem or fix? Do I have a bad install, is there a way to do a clean install of 1.3.1 via the browser or do i need to go direct to the sd card.
Hi @crans,
It sounds like your BlueOS may be reverting to its factory version, perhaps due to some startup issue. Your installation of the BlueOS version is unlikely to be the issue, unless you’ve been manually messing with configuration files via the File Browser or Terminal.
Depending on which version you started with, you may have an old bootstrap version, in which case I’d recommend turning on Pirate Mode and using the yellow button in the BlueOS Version page to update bootstrap to match your BlueOS-core version.
If that doesn’t resolve the issue, it may be worth trying the latest 1.4 beta, but otherwise please provide some system log files so we can try to find out what’s going wrong
Thanks Eliot, I used the online instructions to reinstall version 1.3.1 by flashing it to the sd card directly. seems to have fixed the problem
Problem now is that I’m getting BlueOS to connect to my router WIFI but cannot connect to the internet so I’m unable to access the extensions now. Any ideas? It was working previously using the older version of BlueOS. I just noticed this after flashing the sd card with the newer 1.3.1
reinstalled 1.3.1 again seems wifi/internet problem fixed itself
