I’m trying to set up our BlueBoat through a BaseStation. Everything is connected and has been given the correct IP addresses, and I can ping the boat from the computer.
However, when I open QGroundControl it doesn’t connect to the boat. QGroundControl is set up to go through Windows firewall (as per the setup instructions).
I’ve checked on BlueOS that the MAVLink Endpoints are correctly set up and that telemetry is being broadcast.
I’m using the QGroundControl version suggested in the guide (4.2.8.0) and I’ve updated all firemware and BlueOS version.
Any help getting the BlueBoat connected to QGroundControl will be greatly appreciated!
Hi @TobyT -
Welcome to the forums!
If your connected to the BaseStation (via USB-C or WiFi?), and have the Mavlink Endpoint targeting your computer’s address on that interface (192.168.2.2) than QGC will automatically connect, unless you have a firewall blocking the port?
Since you can reach BlueOS in your browser and ping 192.168.2.2, then either your IP is not 192.168.2.1, or you don’t have a MAVlink endpoint client targeting 192.168.2.1…
Cockpit is not 100% ready for BlueBoat / ArduRover use, but it has become my default and the latest beta versions are pretty close to matching all features of QGC!
After some searching this morning, the connection to the BaseStation was set to Public. We couldn’t change the firewall settings for this, so changing that connection to private fixed the issue.
Posting this in case anyone similar to us has to try and work around organisationally controlled computers like us!
