Electronic Diagram of BlueROV2 Heavy

Hi everyone,

I want to build a BlueROV2 Heavy 300m configuration.

But I am a software engineer and kind of interested in electronics and robotic.

Is there any diagram of the electronic parts connection?

I saw an article in this link . But I couldn’t understand how should I make the connection of thrusters with power and directly to the thruster.

Hi there @dudu,

The Navigator is the brains of the operation and controls everything. Reading about the functions here is a good place to start.

The ESC takes DC voltage from the battery of the ROV and a PWM throttle signal from the Navigator and converts it into three AC phases to drive the brushless motor.

Here is a good explanation of brushless motors.

Connection diagrams for different versions are available in the BlueROV2 Operation Guide. Here is the latest R4 connection diagram.

Not shown in that diagram are the two additional ESCs for the vertical thrusters #7 and #8 for the Heavy configuration. Those are connected to output channels #7 and #8 on the Navigator.
