Cutting the Blue Robotics Polyurethane foam

Hi,

We have recently bought the bluerobotics subsea foam for buoyancy of our ROV, anyone please tell us how to cut the foam precisely for a given size.

A miter saw works perfectly.

to get curved surfaces??

Giridharan,

Getting precise curved surfaces is tough. I’d recommend cutting it roughly to shape and then sanding. It will probably be more of an art than a science.

Coping saw, keyhole saw, any medium-fine tooth saw. As Rusty said, rough cut then sand. 80 grit works great.

Hi all,
Do you know if we can cut this kind of foam with hot wire cutting?
Thanks!

We have a friend who tried without success. The manufacturer does not provide melting point data.

okay! thanks for your help!
