I’d like to share a compact handheld ground station I built for tethered ROV control using cockpit .
Instead of using a laptop + external game controller, I designed a fully integrated surface unit built around:
Raspberry Pi 5
7” touchscreen LCD
Dual joystick controller
Single compact 3D-printed frame
The goal was simple:
Create a self-contained, portable, field-ready control station optimized for real-world deployment on small boats and floating platforms.
