Cockpit and Xbox controller

I’m trying to get my Xbox Elite controller to work with our Blue Robotics ROV and Cockpit. Everything works fine with QGroundControl but we’re trying to move towards Cockpit instead.

I’ve tried both the browser version as well as the standalone app, neither version will allow me to retain control of the ROV if the browser/app isn’t the focus window.

A normal joystick will work just fine, it’s specifically the controller that stops functioning when Cockpit isn’t the focus.

Is there a setting I’m missing somewhere or are Xbox controllers so integrated with Windows now that they’re treated more like a mouse than a “standard” game controller?

Hi @dcarroll394 -
This is unfortunately not an issue with the controller or Cockpit, but a fundamental limitation of Chrome / Electron that the application is built on.

If you use the standalone Cockpit version, and alt-tab away from the window, you will still have control, however once you click in another window control will be lost.
