Hi, we are looking at using the Sonoptix ECHO Multibeam Imaging Sonar, and we would like to stream the sonar image over Wifi (or other wireless technology) in stead of ethernet. is this possible? is wifi the best option?
PS, the Wifi would only transmit in air, while the ROV is in the water surface.

Yes, if you have a WiFi link to the vehicle, you can use the BlueOS Proxy extension (find in the extension manager) to access the IP address of the Sonoptix Echo, and view the data via WiFi. The quality of the WiFi link with the vehicle floating at the surface is not likely to be very good…
as a follow up question, are there other wireless technologies that are better suited? starlink?

Unfortunately, water doesn’t discriminate when it comes to blocking radio-frequencies! Putting your antenna higher above the water is the best way to improve the link
