BlueROV "Flying high"

Some weeks ago we performed an underwater inspection using BlueROV2 Heavy in a 60 meter high water tower. The tower is located in the Netherlands and was built in the 50’s.
The goal of the inspection was to determine the quality of the steel pipe that’s inside the brick tower. The pipe was partially filled with water and has a diameter of approx. 1 meter.

It was a big climb but a very nice and not ordinary job!

This is very cool! It looks like the structure is very large compared to the reservoir itself, I wouldn’t have guessed that.

The steel pipe inside expands towards the bottom of the structure and further under the ground. It’s a kind of a “water hammer buffer”.
