Blueboat vessel: clarification about sealing and leakage testing

Hi,

Is BlueBoat designed to be fully sealed when assembled? For example, if the vessel is flipped on the water surface or the port hatch lid assemblies get below water level for some reason, would the water get inside the hulls?

If it is designed to prevent any water from getting inside, how could I do the proper leakage test? I saw discussions for ROV pressure/vacuum testing but wonder what values (inHG or pressure) would be acceptable for the vessel.

Hi @Yermakhan -

Yes, the BlueBoat is sealed completely and should not leak if flipped over - the only times a leak has been encountered is when penetrators on the deck of the BlueBoat were not properly installed / sealed.

Each BlueBoat seal is tested as it rolls of the production line via a 1-2 psi positive pressure test. If it holds pressure for a short while, it is ready to go!
