I have a DWE USB camera on my blueboat, a 4G cradlepoint modem, and a tailscale link back to my control laptop. I believe a port may be blocked, preventing me from seeing the video stream in QGroundControl or BlueOS.
If the boat is connected to the internet via a direct Ethernet connection to a router and I connect via Tailscale, I can see the camera.
Is there any way to fix this?
Is there a way so that the dashcam extension will still record regardless of the camera’s connection to my laptop?
Also, just another note, when connected via the base station and using the camera, it caused a huge amount of latency, disconnections, and made the boat generally unusable, even when reducing resolution and framerate.
Hi @CA_BlueBoat -
Dashcam records regardless of connection to the vehicle, anytime the system is armed it should be recording… you do need to setup the stream to be RTSP!
We’ve not tested with tailscale - but I can confirm video goes over zerotier via 4G just fine - with the bitrate set to 1-2 mbit, and the frame rate lowered - at least with Cockpit. Maybe the issue was setting up the stream as UDP for both dashcam and tailscale issues?
What did you set the resolution and frame rate to currently? Did you lower the bitrate with the DWE OS extension?
