BlueBoat Port Thruster not working

Hi,

We recently got a BlueBoat and have been setting it up for the past few days. However, we cannot seem to get the port thruster to work.

Both ESCs seem to make a startup beep when we first power on the boat.

However, once we are fully connected and using the BlueOS > Vehicle Setup > PMW Outputs > Motor Test; we can only get a successful spin test for the starboard motor.

Troubleshooting steps we have taken;

  1. We have swapped the port and starboard motors. Results = the original port motor in the starboard position works fine. The original starboard motor in the port position gets no response.
  2. We have tried multiple batteries in various positions in the wiring harness. Results = no change for the results from test #1 above.

Do you have a suggestion on how we can test the ESC, other than to swap that out to the ESC in starboard position?

Thought we would ask before we go through the effort of swapping the ESCs.

Thanks again,

Mike

Hi Mike -
Double checking the connections to the motor that is not spinning is critical. You should make sure that the 3 pin motor connection is made, and that the signal white wire is connected correctly at the ESC, and in the connection from the E-Tray to the cross-tube, in both hulls. Finally, the small xt90 power connector in the starboard hull that supplies voltage to the Port ESC should be verified as well. If all those are connected, and you still hear motor beeps with the starboard motor disconnected (on power up), then you may have a bad ESC - please reach out via the contact form!

Hi Tony,

Thanks so much for the suggestions. After checking everything, we ending determining it was a loose plug from the ESC (the thin black and white wire one). We are now back in business.

Thanks again,

Mike
