BAR 30 wrong reading

I use the bar30 with your python interface from your github. I can connect to it but i get the following wrong reading when it is just laying on my desk.

P: 97796.5 mbar 1418.418 psi T: 270.25 C 518.46 F

Do i need to calibrate it or something to get a correct reading?

Hi @Braenderen -
Welcome to the forums!
No need to calibrate - that reading is correct! Atmospheric air pressure is about 14 psi, which you are measuring at 977.965 mbar (think you have decimal point located wrong there and for psi, deg. C…)

I havent changed the code, i use the direct example script from your barometer github

I think the barometer might be faulty. I have tried another barometer which gives the following reading with the same script P: 1490.3 mbar 21.615 psi T: 24.95 C 76.91 F. The temperature readings looks more realistic, but the pressure reading is still alot off, do you have an idea of why the pressure reading is wrong? Also, if i press it a few times and then let it sit it drifts a lot, over 1 meter in a few minutes

Hi @Braenderen -
Your values seem ok to me - what makes you think the measurements are wrong? Note that the Bar30 measures water pressure, and won’t do a great job as an altimeter in air… the pressure you’re reading is what you would expect atmospheric air pressure to be!
That amount of drift is also expected, especially in air…

The asmospheric pressure where i am is 1013 mbar, so 1490 is way off i would say. Is 477 mbar error within spec?

I found a wiring mistake in my setup which pulled the supply voltage too low, so it looks a lot better now, thanks for the help
