USB question

Is the output voltage on a USB port 5 volts? If so, I should be able to add external power to my GoPro at 5 volts, am I correct?

Yes, the output of a USB port should be +5 vdc. However, the amount of current available from any given USB port can very dramatically. The maximum that can be supplied is 500 ma.
