Speed of BlueROV2

I need to measure and report the current speed of the ROV.

Does anyone have any ideas how to do this?


There’s a couple ways we have measured speed of a BlueROV2:

  1. Have a quadcopter follow the ROV that is just barely under the water. Get the speed reading from the UAV.
  2. Use a GPS mast that is out of the water by about 1m.
  3. Use an underwater positioning system: Water Linked UGPS
