We reside in India and have currently used Allen head screws as fasteners for our Rover. The screws seem to be getting rusted after several use cycles. Any suggestions regarding alternative fasteners, which can be sourced in India, would be much appreciated.
316SS should be fine. If you’re really having problems you can coat in Tefgel

Keep in mind that affixing any dissimilar metals is problematic. So avoid it if you can. Use plastic/delrin if possible. For non-critical assemblies you can also put a nylon washer under the bolt head to reduce the amount of metal surface area touching.
