I’m working on a project where we need to protect a board like a Raspberry Pi Pico or an Arduino microcontroller in an underwater application. When on shore I need to access ports for charging LiPo batteries and USB for software updates. I know this has been solved before. What are the common practices to accomplish this?
While you could potentially use epoxy potting to seal you electronics, any exposed metal surfaces will not hold up in water. The typical approach is to put them in dry enclosure filled with air and make connections from wet to dry with connectors or glands like the Blue Robotics wetlink penetrator.
