When mounting the ping 2 on other craft, how much of the unit has to be submerged? The whole unit or just the bottom face? Or can it be mounted internally like some kayaks have there transducers mounted. eg set face down in a large pool of silicon directly against the bottom of the hull. Thís example works on my Garmin transducer.

Only the bottom transducer face needs to be in the water, but it should be there consistently so we typically see the entire unit submerged. We’ve not tried it going through a hull with a medium like silicone, but it may work! Please share if you try it!
Thanks for your quick responce. I will try internally first in the location I would wet mount then its an easy mod without having to re configure anything.
