M200 x 4 Outboard

Hi all

I had some spare M200s lying around so I decided to make a mini outboard out of 4 of them. I designed a few parts to get machined out of alloy to mount them on and for somewhere for a transom bracket of some sort to pivot off. The water proof case has a Thruster Commander, 4 ESCs and can hold a 35 ah li-ion battery I had left over from another project.

I’m not sure what I will mount it on although possibly a kayak or even a small inflatable dinghy. It should push something small along pretty well.

Here are a few pics of what it looks like.

Hi @johng -
Very cool!
You may see better performance by increasing the spacing between the motors - usually 1.5 prop diameters between the outer tips of the propellers is best to avoid a majority of interference/turbulence. You may also want to put to CW on one side and two CCW on the other, rather than alternating to minimize turbulence as well, but I’m basing that on more of a gut feeling - haha.

Would love to see how it goes pushing something around!
