I am currently using the BAR30 pressure/depth sensor for an AUV application. The sensor was submerged continuously for approximately one week without any drying period.
After retrieving the AUV and testing the sensor, it is no longer providing any readings (displaying “N/A”). Additionally, the AUV experienced a leak during operation, so there is a possibility that an excessive amount of water entered the sensor.
Could you please advise whether this indicates that the sensor is damaged and if there are any possible troubleshooting steps or repair options?
Welcome to the forums. Unfortunately, your Bar30 is damaged - the gel coating the sensor dissolved, and water entered the sensor, killing it (permanently). Sorry for the news! This warning is presented on the product page to avoid this situation….
An update to the Bar100 is coming, that will provide Bar30 and Bar02 precision with the continuous submersion rating of the Bar100 currently, thanks to the stainless membrane of the keller sensor.
