Can the battery be charged inside an enclosure?

Hi there!

We are currently on the process of assembling an ROV, specifically its battery enclosure. As I have seen, a switch penetrator is available to turn the power on or off of the ROV from the outside using a relay. However, we are unable to do this at the moment. We would just like to confirm if our idea is correct: every time we need to charge our battery. the end cap must be removed from the flange in order to get our battery from the inside.

Any response to this will be highly appreciated. Thanks!

That’s correct.

Even if you add an additional penetrator/connector so you connect to the balance cable from outside the enclosure, we still generally wouldn’t recommend charging the battery in an enclosure anyway, as it can potentially overheat.

This is noted, thanks for this @EliotBR!
