Yes - running an BluROV2 on the bench, sealed, for extended periods (more than 15 mintues) will usually lead to video issues, as the camera module itself overheats! There is absolutely no reason why running it open to the air is not practical or unsafe though (unless it starts raining - haha) - go right ahead!
