Battery enclosure opener

I always have such a hard time opening the battery enclosure I have on my bluerov. I quickly cad-ed up this opener that has served me well. I printed it with PLA, more than average infill if I remember correctly. If you have an enclosure of a different size than the default battery enclosure on the bluerov, you can scale it uniformly in whatever slicer you use.

Hi @coanderson -
Very cool! It can be a bit tricky - I feel your pain. I usually find the “ears” on the endcap are enough to pull on with a wiggle, but your tool makes it even easier. It may print much stronger if you rotate it 90 degrees, so it lays flat on the printer and has the layers oriented for maximum pulling strength? If printed with the two ends opposite the handle on the bed, you’re directly stressing the layer to layer bond, which is only ~30% as strong as the other two directions of loading…
Consider uploading it to Printables and we’ll add it to our collection!

Hi @coanderson, cool - thanks for sharing!

Noting that we have a pry tool that can help with this, without being restricted to a particular enclosure size. Might be worth trying to replicate if you don’t have a nearby BR order coming up already, although material strength could be a challenge depending on your accessible manufacturing technologies.

We have a form to streamline this!
