Below is a video-link to the first test-dive of the new build. The lights and thrusters runs on 24 volt.
It has been set up with two cameras, one in the front and one aft, USB and analog. Both cams are in external housing
It have two power out in the back plate - one for the gripper and one for GPS or any other application running on 12Volt. Both can be switched on and off with the BR switch. Diodes indicated when power is on.
The ROV is fed 610Volt DC 2,5 amp and have two off Absopulse 600/24v DC DC converters 25 Amps each.
All electronics is inside BR 8" enclosure. When the shallow tests are completed, the enclosure will be oil compensated with Shell Diala S4 oil.
Video link to short video of the first wet test. The ROV is 25 - 30lbs buoyant at this point.
No reason in particular. Off the shelves there is a decent variety of AC to DC step UP converters and the same goes for DC DC converters. I dont know If the same goes for AC AC converters. Plus you would need rectifier. Also the umbilical I use i 600v rated. The peak current of 600V AC is much higher.
More testing.
The ROV is now fully functional in all modes. Today I filled the electronic enclosure with Shell Diala dielectric oil. Still working - On the bench. Wet test tomorrow.
