Powering fathom x from tether

I’ve searched through the forum and could find a few topics similar to this I couldn’t answer my exact question.

Is it possible to use the same wire for the fathom tether and battery connections? Such as on the attached schematic

Hi @scupper-made -
Welcome to the forums!
It is indeed possible to send power over the same two lines that the Fathom-X module is using. However, it is worth noting that if that power is “noisy”, especially if a high-frequency (inductive) load is causing noise on the lines, the bandwidth of the connection may be reduced or suffer from occasional disconnects. For low power applications, with minimal high-frequency noise, things should work as expected!
If you’re using BlueOS, the tether diagnostic extension lets you look under the hood and see how the homeplug module used by the Fathom-X is doing!

I have successfully done what you are describing at 140VDC to power a side scan sonar towfish.
