The radial o-rings for the o-ring flange are too thick for the flange and end cap to fit into the acrylic tube. In trying to force it in, one of the O-rings was sliced between the aluminum and the acrylic. The inner diameter of the acrylic I measured to be 50.2 mm, while the diameter of the o-ring on the flange is 51.6 mm. Has anyone else had this problem? Are there replacement o-rings of a smaller size?
Rachel,
Yikes! That’s not good. The O-ring is supposed to be a bit larger than the inside diameter of the tube so that it is squeezed when it is installed. If it’s not squeezed then it won’t seal very well.
Did you use silicone grease when sliding this one on to the tube? It definitely got pinched.
In any case, please send me an email at rusty@bluerobotics.com with your mailing address and we’ll be happy to send you a new set of O-rings.
