QGroundControl failing to communicate with BlueROV2

Hello,

Some how, some where, I’ve lost the ability for my Sub to communicate with QGC. I am currently running blueOS 1.4.5

QGC v5.0.8

Ardupilot: unkown, it will no longer display. When trying to update there is an AUTOPILOT_FIRM_INFO_FETCH_FAIL alarm.

When connected to the internet using BlueOS I am able to see thumbnails of the video stream, but not able to arm the ROV to test thrust direction.

When running QGC it shows that I am disconnected, and click to manually connect. Auto connect is set up to connect to anything available. Sadly nothing ever connects anymore, it only ever displays waiting for video.

I downloaded cockpit to see if that would help and went through the start up procedure but once the video player configuration was added to the edit interface and the controller was set up, a plethora of alarms came through. Ranging from: vehicle disconnecting and connecting, heartbeat loss, lost manual control, vehicle armed and disarmed.

Any help in getting QGC or Cockpit running is greatly appreciated, Cheers,

Hi @mschleiderer -
As you may have noted, Blue Robotics no longer recommends or supports QGround Control, and never tested beyond version 4.2.8 (as listed on the Technical Reference.)

If Cockpit is giving you issues, then you likely have an issue with your tether connection, or the configuration of your computers IP address on the USB to Ethernet adapter - I’d suspect the former more.

Can you share what version of ArduSub you’re running? You can find this within BlueOS, on the Autopilot Firmware page. Updating to 4.7.0 stable isn’t a bad idea!

Can you install the tether diagnostic extension in BlueOS (connect vehicle to WiFi with internet) and share a screenshot of the results? Is the link light on your blue FXTI box at the topside computer staying lit after power up, and never going off?
