PC to FathomX not connecting

Hi
Our organisation has a Blue ROV2 with the Fathom X interface. The guy who normally operates and maintains it is no longer able to do so. I have been tasked with operating it, however we are unable to get a computer to connect to the FathomX. I have followed the software instructions for both windows and Linux, with firewalls disabled, wireless on the laptops is currently disabled.
When the FathomX powers on the connection light goes out after 16 seconds and does not come on again. This happens if the ROV is connected or not.
I have pinged 192.168.2.2 and get 192.168.2.1 :destination host unreachable. This happens if the network cable is connected to through the network adaptor (Yuanxin - Red and green led lit) (network port on the board has the green and orange LEDS lit.) or directly to the laptop. Am guessing this is because the connection light is not on.

The ROV (Pihawk?) a big flashing blue LED, small flashing blue LED and two green LED’s)
The FathomX tether network port has the green and orange (flashing) LEDs on.

IP config shows IPv4 address as 192.168.2.1

I have no experience with Raspberry Pi’s and apologies if it the post seems disjointed.

Any help on the matter is much appreciated,

Simon

Hi @simonwatkins999 -
Happy to help! It sounds like you’re working with an older ROV if it is running a Pixhawk!
No amount of configuration will get you connected if that link light isn’t staying lit on the FXTI box. The best next step is to verify that both wires of your tether are connected, and not damaged. You’ll open the main 4" electronics enclosure and FXTI box, and measure the resistance from vehicle to surface connection:

Polarity does not matter, you just need to similar resistance values for each wire. If you don’t measure resistance from + to + check + to - (on the green screw terminals.) Let us know what you measure!
