Hi all,

I am doing CFD simulations with an auv that is driven by two T500. Therefore, I need the open water diagram rather than the thrust at zero speed. Is that available somewhere, where I didn’t find it?
Alternatively, I would quickly make the simulation with OpenProp. For that I need information on
-the profile shape (type or max. thickness/max. camber/position of max. camber),
-chord length/pitch/skew/rake
All for a couple of radii along the blade.
I could extract the information from the 3d file, but it is very tedious. So I hope, that information is already available? =)

Best regards from Berlin,
Barbara

Hi @bluba -
Welcome to the forums!

A T500 may be a better choice for an AUV if the nozzle is removed - the standard design is optimized for ROV use (static or low speed thrust.)

Blue Robotics has no collected performance data for the non-bollard thrust cases.

You can find some detail on the props [on this thread](https://discuss.bluerobotics.com/t/flow-rate-s-for-t200/4117/9), but the 3D cad model _does not_ reflect the true geometry of the propeller, which is considered proprietary. Sorry for the news!

Maybe [this](https://www.printables.com/model/917540-m500-weedless-propeller) prop is worth a try?

Hi Tony,

thank you for the information. You are right of course, I am actually doing the calculations for an ROV (I come from ship hydrodynamics and are rather new in the field of UVs. I keep mixing up the abbreviations. Sorry! 🙈 )

Would you reveal for which vehicle speed at which resistance the propeller was designed? The pitch angle still seems a little high for our use case. But I will do a quick analysis with an estimated geometry and see where the efficiency lands.

Thanks again. And best regards

Hi @bluba

Unfortunately Blue Robotics doesn’t have specific data on that. If you take the pitch, and a “reasonable” advance ratio, that should give an idea of the maximum speed.

Alright. Thanks anyhow for the information. =)

@bluba

Bringing this topic back to the topic as I am also trying to find any dynamic performance values for the T500. I am looking to scope my battery size off it and but I am not sure if the static thrust numbers provide an accurate Wattage for dynamic performance analysis. Were you able to find anything relevant you would like to share here or PM?
