# Not able to communicate with gripper

Hi
I’m trying to connect a brand new Gripper, but I can’t seem to get any response from it. I’ve connected the power cables and tried switching from spare 3 to spare 2 to see if there’s a malfunction in the Pixhawk, but no response at all.
Any typical errors in connection?
Using Qground 3.2.4 topside.

Hi Tom,
Have you connected the wires as [described in wiring connections](http://docs.bluerobotics.com/newton-gripper/#wiring-connections) ?
Are you running the last version of QGC (Rev6) and ardusub (3.5.3+) as described in [QGroundControl setup](http://docs.bluerobotics.com/newton-gripper/#setup-in-qgroundcontrol) ?

Thanks for the quick reply. Turned out I hadn’t updated the software, solved the issue with the latest version.
