New tether spool Slipring realy tight

Question on the new tether spool slipring Should the slipring be tight ?
Is there a break-in or o-ring grease that needs to be applied?
I can get the sliprings to rotate but more resistance than just the weight of the deck lead can counter.
If I had to guess I’d say about 20Flbs to get going. This is right out of the box and not assembled into the Spooler

Hi Craig,

There is no break in period and the grease has been applied during our production. The slip ring core will be quite tight to turn by hand without being assembled into the complete spool, as it was optimized for a strong seal and to add a bit of resistance to the complete unit. Once fully assembled, the slip ring core resistance will feel much more appropriate.
