Robotshop sells a motor driver board for use with Rasperry Pi.

Has anybody tried using this board to drive a motor for any function?
I am looking at taking the blue2 enclosure and mounting it on wheels for wet pipeline inspections.
Also does anybody know if using a motor encoder to measure linear distance traveled will work with Blue2?
