Hey guys, I’m new here so forgive me if this isn’t the right place. A friend of mine is joining a competition involving designing an underwater ROV. They do not have a background in mechanical design and development so can anyone guide me to resources and guidelines that would help me with this? In terms of calculations and stuff they should focus on.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Nahid,

I recommend the following references (we have them on our engineering shelves and use them regularly for ideas):

[Underwater Robotics: Science, Design & Fabrication](https://bluerobotics.com/store/books/book-moore-ed1/)
[The ROV Manual: A User Guide for Remotely Operated Vehicles](https://www.amazon.com/ROV-Manual-Remotely-Operated-Vehicles/dp/0080982883/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1537903625&sr=8-1&keywords=rov+manual)

We have a few other scattered resources and calculators spread throughout our website and documentation pages. Is there anything specific your team is looking for?
