Hey Fredi!

We usually use a simple bag like this one from Amazon: [https://www.amazon.com/Youdepot-Fireproof-Sleeve-Explosion-Proof-Storage/dp/B07HVVJH1N/ref=sr\_1\_27?keywords=lipo+safe+bag&qid=1560792186&s=gateway&sr=8-27](https://www.amazon.com/Youdepot-Fireproof-Sleeve-Explosion-Proof-Storage/dp/B07HVVJH1N/ref=sr_1_27?keywords=lipo+safe+bag&qid=1560792186&s=gateway&sr=8-27)

There are certainly better ones out there but it works for us!

After watching a few fire tests on youtube I feel that bags are not fireproof enough for 10Ah Lipo or 18Ah LiIon batteries. Boxes, like the “bat safe” (normal size or XL) seem to be more reliable.

Hello,

I finally bought a case for storing, transporting and charging 18Ah LiIon batteries, the P908.8 (8kg) model by B&W international : [Customize battery transport cases for your company](https://www.b-w-international.com/en/product-range/battery-transport-cases/). They are certified P903 and P908 which is quite good although it would be even safer to use P911 certified cases. I chose this case because it has a whole on the side to let charging cables go through even when case is closed.

The 8kg capacity suggest it is appropriate for 6x 18Ah batteries which is nice for 3x pairs for a blueboat (1 pair in the boat and 2 pairs charging or 3 pairs in storage/transport). We bought the charger HOTA F6 Ultra to be able to charge 4x batteries together with a single charger (7A max per battery in that case if AC powered). A major deception is that when placing the HOTA F6 Ultra inside the box (for convenience to connect the 4 batteries) and closing the lid, the HOTA goes into a failsafe due to high temperature.

**Have others also encountered this limitation when placing the charger within the safety box?** Alternative is to place the charger outside but the cable management would not be as convenient and the charger is not protected by rain or sea spray if charging outdoor.

(One specific problem we found with this case, are the cap nuts that hold the internal metal box in place. They are protruding and are covered by low density foam, there is a risk that a bolt may put too much pressure on a battery. I am planning to add boards of the thickness of the cap nuts to no longer have them protruding.)

Eloi
