Issues Configuring Xbox Controller with 4.2.8

Hello,

I am a new BlueBoat user and recently completed the initial setup using QGroundControl version 4.2.8. The setup process went smoothly following the documentation, and I was also able to successfully configure all functions on my Xbox controller with one exception — I cannot locate an option to assign a Forward/Reverse (surge direction) control in the joystick button assignment menu.

I do not see a Forward/Reverse function in the dropdown list of assignable commands. Has anyone configured an Xbox controller for BlueBoat in QGC and found a solution for setting up forward and reverse control?

Any guidance or recommended configuration steps would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help.

I saw you resolved this issue via our support team - as they explained, it’s not possible to assign buttons to the fwd/reverse control, a joystick axis is used! Have a great week.

Noting that while this isn’t an existing feature that can just be configured and used, it should be possible via a Lua script provided to the autopilot, or in a control station software with more customisation options, like Cockpit.
