# How to download BlueOS core for offline update

Hi,
I’m using a Navigator and I’m trying to update BlueOS.
Where do I download the stable BlueOS core so I can update the Navigator offline?
I have found the download for the ArduSub firmware, but not BlueOS.
I cannot connect to the WiFi due to my facility requiring a custom SSID.

Hi @Matt_D -
Once you’ve applied a version of BlueOS, it is stored on the device and you can switch between these downloaded versions. As far as I know, it is not possible to download an update file by itself and apply it to BlueOS while offline. You can download the BlueOS [image](https://github.com/bluerobotics/BlueOS/releases), and flash it to an SD card for a from-scratch [install](https://blueos.cloud/docs/blueos/latest/installation/), however this setup process works best if you can connect your vehicle to the internet…
I would recommend using a phone as a hotspot if you are limited by the local WiFi type!

Hi @tony-white,
Thank you for your answer, that was exactly the download page I was looking for.
I ended up downloading the arm64 core 1.2.5 and uploading that to the Navigator offline through BlueOS.
This appears to have worked, I did the same for ArduSub and this seems to have worked too.
I also had to use a different laptop to link QGroundControl to the Navigator due to an issue I had which I think is the network permission being disabled so there were firewall issues.
I will likely re-install the updates through my hotspot when I bring my kit to somewhere I have signal, I appreciate the help.

[There are some different places](https://github.com/bluerobotics/ardusub-zola/issues/166), depending on what you’re trying to achieve.
Thanks for bringing this up - it seems to be an area for improvement for our docs 🙂

@tony-white it’s definitely possible - there’s even a “Manual upload” section built in the [BlueOS Version](https://docs.bluerobotics.com/ardusub-zola/software/onboard/BlueOS-1.2/advanced-usage/#blueos-version) page. If you didn’t know about that feature then that’s an extra strong indication we need to improve our docs in that area.

Thank you @EliotBR thank you. Some documentation for offline update would be really helpful for people new to the ecosystem. It could even be a footnote in the start-up guide.
