Does anyone know if there’s a fiber optic tether with top side power conductors?

That’s really cool, but I was thinking of something simpler, like a fiber cable jacketed with two power conductors!
@kurty - I admit it was a little off-piste, but it came up on my FB feed moments before seeing this post of yours, and having had a fair few beers onboard…need I say any more…?

There are definitely tether manufacturers who’ll make the cable for you (try searching “electro-optical underwater tether”, or “hybrid fiber optic ROV tether”). The bigger challenges come in the integration of it - from determining your requirements, to sourcing the relevant converter electronics, and making the connections in a safe and efficient way.
I’m not aware of any pre-made full-package solutions (like a fiber version of the OTPS). If that’s the kind of thing you’re after your best bet is likely one of our distributors 
McArtney makes Fiber hybrid cables. You would need to reach out to them to check stock and have a good idea of your requirements.
Likely an expensive, but robust solution, and they can lead you to the tether manufacturer, I’m sure.
