# BlueROV2 wireless control via the WIFI connection (removing tether cable)

Hi, I’m trying to remove the tether cable and directly connect from laptop to bluerov2 via the wifi(mobile hotspot). What things should be done?

Can you explain more about your application and why you want to do this? It may help steering you in the right direction.

Hi Joshua, sorry for writing without sufficient context.

I’m currently doing a project to remove a tether cable from the surface computer to Bluerov2 and make it wirelessly connected via the wifi connection.

My main goal is to send the instructions to Bluerov2 while it is on the surface wirelessly, once it receives it, let it do the work. Once it is done, it should come back, rise to the surface and wait for another mission from the surface computer.

I wonder what things needs to be done to achieve this.
