Joystick boards

I’m setting up 4 thrusters with 2 Parallax Joysticks using the GitHub Analog Joystick Example.

In the Wiring #1 Plug Parallax Joystick interface boards into the breadboard. my question is,

what are they? and where can i find them?

Thank you, Tom

Hi Tom,

Are you talking about the breadboard or the “Parallax Joystick Interface Boards”?

The breadboard can be purchased from a number of places including Parallax: 6 3/4" x 2 9/16" Breadboard - Parallax

The “Parallax Joystick Interface Boards” come with the joysticks and are intended to plug into the breadboard: Gimbal Joystick - Parallax

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Best,

Rusty

Hi Rusty, Thanks for the quick reply. I was talking about the interface boards.

I have a couple of the 27800 that I was thinking of using. They don’t use the

interface board. The 27808’s seam like a better Joystick to control. I think I will

order a pair.

Tom

Tom,

Okay. The interface boards just make it easy to attach the joysticks to a breadboard. The 27800 joysticks (link for everyone else) will work well too. You’ll have to power them and connect the analog pins to those outputs.

They might also have a slightly different range and you can adjust for that in the code to make sure you still have full range on the thrusters.

I’d be happy to help if you have any other questions about that.

Best,

Rusty
